Drilling rates fall further in the US

Oilfield activity in the United States is continuing to plummet, sustaining pressure on the oilfield mineral industry.

Oil and gas rigs in the US totaled 664 as of April 3, compared with 1,038 at the same point a year ago, according to oilfield services company Baker Hughes. This is the lowest rate of drilling activity since the start of 2017.
