Tianqi, Ganfeng issue profit warnings for Q1

Chinese lithium producers Tianqi and Ganfeng have issued profit warnings for the first quarter of 2020 owing to falling lithium prices and the adverse effects related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tianqi Lithium expects to record a net loss of 450-510 million yuan ($64-72 million) in the first three months of this year, compared with a net profit of 111.29 million yuan in the same period of 2019, the company announced on Wednesday April 15.
