Chromite market strengthens due to lockdown in South Africa

Restrictions to production in South Africa imposed in response to the Covid-19 virus have increased sentiment in the chromite market over the week to Tuesday April 21.

Fastmarkets' chromite, chemical, 46% Cr2O3 min, wet bulk, fob South Africa assessment rose by $10 or 5.9% to $170-190 per tonne on Tuesday from $160-180 per tonne a week ago.
