World steel output falls 6% year on year in March; Europe leads way

Global crude steel production declined by 6% year on year in March as the Covid-19 pandemic hammered demand, World Steel Association (Worldsteel) data show.

Steel production for the 64 countries reporting to Worldsteel totaled 147.05 million tonnes in March, down from 156.51 million tonnes in the same month last year.
