Covid-19 pandemic breaks stability in Chinese flake graphite prices

The price for minus-mesh graphite flake has fallen by $10 per tonne, ending a period of stability that has lasted since August 22 last year, against the backdrop of demand reduced by the effects of measures being used to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fastmarkets’ latest assessment of the price for graphite flake, 94% C, -100 mesh, fob China, commonly referred to as -194, was down by 1.9% to $530 per tonne on Thursday April 23, after eight months at $540 per tonne.
