Andalusite mining in Peru idled until May 11

Andalusite production remains idle in Peru following an extension of the country’s lockdown measures until May 11.

The Peruvian government, which had imposed a six-week period of lockdown across the country to contain the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, has pushed back the deadline for reopening mining operations by two more weeks.
