Chromite supply uncertainty supports prices, improves sentiment

The lockdown in South Africa has continued to support the foundry and chemical chromite markets in the week ending Tuesday April 28, although liquidity has been dampened by restrictions in supply and weak demand.

Fastmarkets’ assessment of chromite, chemical, 46% Cr2O3 min, wet bulk, fob South Africa, rose by $10 on the low end or 2.8% to $180-190 per tonne on Tuesday, from $170-190 per tonne a week ago.
