Refractory-grade silicon carbide prices continue to fall in a quiet market

Silicon carbide prices for refractory applications continued to lose ground in a month affected by lockdown measures implemented across Europe that have forced a wide range of industries to suspend their activities and hit demand for the material.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of silicon carbide, refractory grade 95% SiC min, ddp Europe at €935-1,125 ($1,015-1,221) per tonne on Tuesday April 28, down from €950-1,140 per tonne a month earlier on March 31.
