BFA price drops to two-year low, WFA continues to fall

Fused alumina prices have dropped significantly in the past fortnight, with brown fused alumina (BFA) falling to a two-year low and following the path of white fused alumina (WFA), which has lost value for a second consecutive assessment.

Bauxite prices showed some adjustment downward but were largely affected by a lack of liquidity in the period to Thursday April 30.

Sluggish demand from major overseas markets resulted in a sharp cut in offer prices for BFA, affecting both abrasive and refractory-grade materials.
