China’s NEV output, sales down more than 20% in April 2020

China’s output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) showed an annual decline of more than 20% in April 2020, but a 60% increase month on month because of the restarting of industrial activity. The lithium market remained weak, however.
China produced 80,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in April
2020 including pure electric vehicles (PEVs) and plug-in
hybrids. This was down by 22.1% from April 2019, but up by 60%
from March 2020, according to data released by the China
Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
