US government stalls funding for rare earth plant: Lynas

Australian rare earth producer Lynas has warned that US government funding for its heavy rare earth separation facility is on hold, allegedly due to political opposition to overseas involvement in critical supply chains.

In a statement released on Friday May 22, Lynas said the funding for its US facility "is currently on hold while those political issues are addressed."

Lynas said it had "seen media reports in the US of political debate on the merits of supply...
