Low supply supports China’s large-flake graphite prices

The price of larger graphite flake, 94% C, +80 mesh, fob China (+894), moved up for a second consecutive week on Thursday May 28 amid tight supply and active demand from the expandable graphite sector, while the price for graphite flake 94% C, +100 mesh, fob China (+194), was steady despite even tighter supply.

The price of fine flake graphite in China was stable following a drop of 11% in the space of five weeks, amid weak demand from the major downstream refractory sector.
