Weaker demand due to Covid-19 has caused US soda ash prices to tick down and the Chinese price to fall further below $200 per tonne.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for  soda ash, natural, dense, large contracts, fob Wyoming dropped by $30-35 to $160-190 per tonne on May 28 from $195-220 per tonne on April 30.

This marks the first time that the US price has averaged below $200 per tonne since mid-July 2011.
