China’s exports of fused alumina tumble in May amid weaker demand

China exported 23% less brown fused alumina (BFA) and 38% less white fused alumina (WFA) in May year on year with global coronavirus lockdowns continuing to devastate demand.

China’s exports of WFA (HS Code: 28181090) dropped for a second consecutive month. In May, shipments of WFA from China stood at 21,163 tonnes, compared with 34,356 tonnes a year ago, and down 9% down from April at 23,356 tonnes, according to Chinese customs data.
