China’s graphite imports plunge by 92% during January-May

China’s total imports of flake graphite tumbled by 92% in the space of five months from January to May 2020 amid bearish market conditions and the suspension of production operations in various African countries, according to market participants.

China imported 7,136 tonnes of flake graphite during the five months, a sharp drop of 92% from the corresponding period in 2019, according to Chinese customs data.
