China’s spherical graphite market dips on weak demand, flake graphite flat

The price of spherical graphite has dropped to a two-year low amid weakening demand in the major markets in Japan and South Korea. Flake graphite prices have stalled, meanwhile, with market participants reporting a low level of liquidity.

Fastmarkets’ latest assessment of the price for graphite, spherical, 99.95% C, 15 microns, fob China, was $2,200-2,350 per tonne on Thursday July 2, down from $2,300-2,400 per tonne in the previous assessment.
