US military funding for Lynas heavy rare earth facility back on track

Australian rare earth miner Lynas Corp has secured funding from the US government to build a processing plant, in a bid to secure a non-Chinese supply chain for key minerals used in electric vehicles (EVs) and generators.

Lynas signed a contract with the US Department of Defense to build the heavy rare earth separation facility in the United States to process material from Lynas’ mine in Western Australia, the miner said on Monday July 27.
