Chinese barite exports slump on pandemic slowdown

Chinese barite exports in the first half of 2020 ran at less than half the pace they did in January-June 2019, reflecting low global drilling activity and the fact that India-origin material is more competitive.
Customs data from the East Asian country showed that export
volumes in the first half of 2020 came to 314,565 tonnes,
compared with 727,352 tonnes in the corresponding period of
2019.
