China’s bauxite, fused alumina exports plunge in July

Exports of Chinese refractory-grade bauxite and fused alumina declined steeply in July owing to sluggish demand brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and the traditional summer slowdown

China exported 35,622 tonnes of refractory-grade bauxite (HS Code: 25083000) in July, 40.3% less than in the corresponding period of last year and 12% lower than in June, according to Chinese customs data.

Refractory-grade bauxite shipments totaled 40,494 tonnes in June, which was also 29.5% lower than in June 2019....
