Fused alumina price flatlines on low liquidity; bauxite stable on tight supply

Prices of brown fused alumina (BFA), white fused alumina (WFA) and refractory-grade bauxite remained stable on limited trading during the two weeks ended Thursday September 3, pausing a sharply bearish trend that had affected both commodities in recent months.

The demand-supply pattern and the exchange rate fluctuations between the Chinese yuan, the US dollar and the euro added further uncertainty to the current situation, according to market sources.
