Soda ash buyers target contract price decreases after Covid-19 hit demand in 2020

Soda ash consumers in Europe are seeking price reductions in early-stage contract negotiations with suppliers for 2021, a result of the weaker demand sparked by the coronavirus outbreak.

The weaker demand environment coupled with relatively stable soda ash production has led consumers to see a shift in the supply-demand balance and are now pitching suppliers for price decreases for 2021 deliveries.
