China to launch 2020 round of environmental restrictions for autumn-winter

Chinese authorities will impose strict regulations on industrial production for the fourth consecutive year in the autumn and winter of 2020-21, affecting a number of cities and provinces in the north of the country, with output expected to be curtailed for as long as six months.

The country’s central government is to continue its environmental efforts during the autumn-winter of 2020-21 to support the results achieved in the past three years, as well as to achieve the environment target set in the 13th Five-Year Plan, covering the period 2016-20.
