China’s flake graphite imports surge in Q3 but still plunge annually; spherical exports up slightly

China’s imports of flake graphite improved significantly quarter on quarter but were down sharply from a year earlier, while exports of spherical graphite from China inched up annually due to a recovering new energy vehicles industry.

China imported 6,984 tonnes of flake graphite in the third quarter, up by 50% from 4,641 tonnes in second quarter but down by 86% from a year earlier when it bought 49,683 tonnes cargo, according to China’s customs data.
