China’s bauxite, fused alumina exports down in Q3

China’s exports of bauxite and fused alumina fell in the third quarter of 2020 with downstream demand remaining slow globally amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

China exported 123,075 tonnes of refractory-grade bauxite (HS Code: 25083000) in the third quarter of 2020, a 34.6% decline from last year, according to Chinese customs data.

The top five destinations for Chinese exports of refractory-grade bauxite during the three-month period were India (20,191 tonnes), Japan (18,552 tonnes), the Netherlands...
