European outlook for silicon carbide lackluster, but China could provide uptick

Prices for silicon carbide abrasive- and refractory-grade materials delivered to Europe held steady over October on subdued demand, and were likely to remain steady on a flat market in the foreseeable future, sources said.

There was, however, the possibility that the market in China, the biggest producer and consumer of silicon carbide (SiC), could become bullish in the near term. If it did, this could filter through to Europe-delivered prices, the sources added.
