Mixed fortunes across grades for Chinese magnesia exports in September

China’s exports of dead burned magnesia (DBM) and fused magnesia (FM) decreased year-on-year in September 2020, with global demand showing no significant recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. But exports of caustic calcined magnesia (CCM) were up slightly.

China exported 70,954 tonnes of DBM in September, down by 37.5% from 113,526 tonnes in the corresponding month of 2019, according to official customs data.

The total export value of this quantity of DBM was down by 54% to $14.82 million compared with $32.24 million a year...
