US soda ash exports drop by 1mln tonnes on Covid-19 demand headwinds

Soda ash exports from the United States in the first eight months of 2020 totaled 3.69 million tonnes, a drop of 22% year on year from 4.71 million tonnes.

Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia all reduced their imports of US soda ash as a result of lockdowns and border closures that reduced demand for the material.
