Spot, contract iodine prices steady as markets looks to possible recovery

Prices for iodine on both a spot and a contract basis were unchanged in the week to Thursday November 26 while the market looked ahead to a potential recovery in 2021.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for iodine, 99.5% min, contract, delivered US/Europe, cif Asia, was $34-37 per kg on November 26, unchanged since June.

There have been several months of poor market conditions owing to the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic, which resulted in a significant drop in consumption.
