A new round of winter environmental regulations in China’s Henan province complicates further the picture for brown fused alumina (BFA) amid slow refractories demand, surging freight rates and currency volatility.
Many producers of fused alumina in Henan,
China’s main production hub, have been forced to
shut down by local authorities since the beginning of November
following worsening pollution levels in the region, according
to sources in contact with Fastmarkets.
