Fine flake graphite market up amid anode demand growth

Prices paid for China’s small flake graphite rose by 18.6% from their two-year low earlier this year on strong demand from the spherical graphite market and market concerns of flake graphite supply, sources said.

Fastmarkets recently assessed graphite flake 94% C, -100 mesh, fob China (-194) at $510 per tonne on Thursday December 10, up by 18.6% in a space of two months from the two-year low of $430 per tonne between July and October.
