Iodine markets steady; participants hopeful of price recovery on vaccine news

Iodine weekly and monthly contract prices were steady on Thursday January 28, while some market participants expect the year ahead will bring some recovery to demand and prices.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for iodine, 99.5% min, contract, delivered US/Europe, cif Asia remained flat month on month at $34-37 per kg on January 28, a level it has maintained since June 2020 when it narrowed up from $30-37 per kg.
