Chinese sources dispute claims of restricted US rare earth supply

Chinese state media has attempted to calm fears of a long-anticipated squeeze on rare earth supplies to the US defense industry.

On Tuesday February 16, UK-based newspaper the Financial Times reported concerns from US defense industry executives that China could restrict their access to rare earths.

The reports reignited long held fears over Chinese domination of the rare earth supply chain, and the essential role of many rare earth elements in military applications....
