Short-term market sentiment firm for China’s graphite electrodes on supply tightness

Following on from a sluggish 2020, market participants are looking forward to a recovery in the Chinese graphite electrode market in the short term due to rising raw material costs and reduced supply.
"Prices of graphite electrodes have been
moving up continuously recently. Our latest quotation for
ultra-high-power (UHP) 600mm stood at 19,000-20,000 yuan
($2,920-3,074) per tonne, up by 1,000 yuan from last month," a
producer of graphite electrodes in China told Fastmarkets on
