Bauxite kilns in Xiaoyi suspended on local environmental regulations

Bauxite calcination kilns in the city of Xiaoyi, in China’s Shanxi province, remained at a standstill following the normal autumn-winter shutdown because of the local government’s continuing anti-pollution drive, according to market sources.
The blanket regional operations shutdown in Xiaoyi, a major
production hub for refractory-grade bauxite in Shanxi province,
was imposed just when market participants expected that normal
operations would resume after the strict autumn-winter shutdown.
