Demand recovery boosts China’s Q1 bauxite exports; WFA, BFA shipments follow

China’s quarterly exports of refractory-grade bauxite rose by 44% year on year during the first quarter of 2021, while shipments of white fused alumina and brown fused alumina recorded increases of 28.67% and 5.18% respectively from a year ago, according to Chinese customs data.

Export volumes of refractory-grade bauxite (HS code 25083000) from China in the first quarter of 2021 rose by 43.99% year on year to 209,291 tonnes from 145,351 tonnes, according to customs data.
