Iodine spot market moves up for first time since September

The iodine spot market has shown its first upward movement since September 2020 following a recovery across many sectors, industry sources told Fastmarkets in the week ended Friday April 30.

The weekly price assessment for iodine, 99.5% min, spot, delivered US/Europe, cif Asia, narrowed upward to $34.00-37.50 per kg on April 29, from $33.50-37.50 per kg previously.

The last time the spot market showed a price of $34 per kg was on September 17...
