Chemical, foundry chromite prices lose ground

The chemical-grade chromite market dropped over the past week, with sellers forced to lower offers in the face of weak demand, with wet bulk foundry prices also weakening due to consumers' lack of appetite.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of chromite, chemical, 46% Cr2O3 min, wet bulk, fob South Africa at $180-200 per tonne on Tuesday May 18, down by 7.32% from $200-210 per tonne a week earlier.
