China’s LFP battery production exceeds NCM battery output in May

Chinese output of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries surpassed that of nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) lithium-ion batteries in May, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) shows.

It is the first time in three years that Chinese production of LFP batteries has exceeded that of NCM batteries, market sources told Fastmarkets.
