Iofina sees market recovery, but iodine output down 24% in H1

Iodine output from US-based producer Iofina was down by 24% in the first half of 2021 due to supply issues, with similar production problems likely in the second half of the year, the company has said.

Crystalline iodine production was 249.4 tonnes from January to June 2021, Iofina reported in a press release on Thursday July 15. This was down by one-quarter from 325.5 tonnes from the second half of 2020, which was a new half-year record for the company.
