Chinese soda ash fob export prices fall; Europe, cif Asia markets increase

Chinese soda ash export prices on an fob basis fell over the past month due to rising domestic consumption levels that reduced the need to export amid logistical difficulties affecting ports, while rising shipping costs and delays supported delivered prices in Europe.

Long lead times and rising freight costs have, to an extent, isolated China from some buyers, who instead have looked to Southeast Asia and Europe to source soda ash consignments.
