Silicon carbide prices jump on low availability from China, Europe

Silicon carbide prices continued to rise across the board during November because of critically low inventories in Europe and reduced availability from China.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for silicon carbide, refractory grade, 95% SiC min, ddp Europe, was €1,800-2,000 ($2,041-2,268) per tonne on November 30, rising from €1,250-1,400 per tonne a month earlier. This was the third consecutive month when the price has increased.
