Graphite electrodes prices surge on Chinese yuan fluctuation, high costs

China’s graphite electrodes prices surged in the fortnight ended Wednesday May 25 due to the appreciation of Chinese yuan, with further support from high raw materials prices and Covid-19-related hurdles.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for graphite electrodes, high power, fob China was $3,800-4,000 per tonne on May 25, up by $110-185 (3.93%) from $3,615-3,890 per tonne on May 11....
