Alejandro Quilodran

Chemical Engineer

Alejandro Quilodran is an Applications Engineer at Solvay, where his main focus is at the interface between the Company’s research areas and the customer’s application requirements in solvent extraction. He is involved in the design and optimization of new solvent extraction processes, and new applications for Solvay’s comprehensive range of reagents to solve the customers’ challenges in the hydrometallurgical industry

Alejandro graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of Concepción, Chile, and holds a Diploma in Mining Business from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile.).  He has 11 years of experience in the field of hydrometallurgy of copper and multiple metals (including cobalt, nickel, zinc, molybdenum, arsenic, rare earths, boron and of course lithium), serving as plant metallurgist, researcher and project development around the world.

Prior to Solvay, he worked as a Metallurgical Researcher at Codelco, Radomiro Tomic Division and  as a Metallurgist in Codelco, Chuquicamata Division, as well as a development Metallurgist at Antofagasta Minerals and El Tesoro Mining Co. (current Centinela Oxides).
