China Carbon Graphite Group Inc. (CCG), Chinas top producer of fine-grain and high-purity graphite, is setting its sights on high-value engineered graphite products for new technologies as it looks to boost margins, the company revealed in December.
The group presently manufactures graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces used to make steel and other metals; fine grains which are used to make moulds for the defence and aerospace industries; and high purity products used in aviation, electronics, nuclear energy, chemicals and the automotive industry.
Our strategy is to develop higher margin products, with more emphasis on nuclear energy than on the steel industry, CCG VP of Finance, Grace King, told IM.
