Germany’s Environment Minister, Peter Altmaier, has called for new hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, regulations to be in place by September this year.
Speaking in a video posted on the German government’s website, the Minister added that he plans to ban fracking in areas where drinking water is protected, Reuters has reported.
