Prices for iodine (crystal, 99.5% min) have edged up slightly from a range of $56-65/kg to around $59-65/kg for both spot and contract orders, sources have reported to IM.
Europe-based contacts said that they had observed this firming-up at the lower end of IMs price ranges for iodine, although top prices being paid for the mineral had not broken the $65/kg mark.
Some South American sources placed prices $10/kg above IMs current ranges, although North American and European contacts said that such prices were unrealistic for large, regular orders.
